With a background in jazz and Eastern European music, Marie-Hélène's powerful, energetic style does not go unnoticed. With her rigorous technique and controlled wild side, she will inspire you and she will help elevate your own playing style with a steady diet of tunes and good cheer!

The violin has been an important part of Marie-Hélène's life for more than 20 years. As a youngster, she toured all over Quebec and New-Brunswick. Unsurprisingly, she went on to earn a Diploma of College Studies and a Baccalaureate in Jazz Violin.

During this time, the young violinist discovered that there is a whole world of music beyond jazz.  She developed a keen interest in world music, in particular traditional music from Eastern Europe. Partnering with an accordionist, she founded the band Jtadi. They perform at various festivals including Mémoire et Racines in Joliette, the Festi Jazz international de Rimouski and the Montreal International Jazz Festival.

Marie-Hélène has recently become more involved in music from Ireland and Cape Breton. After hearing just a few notes, it is clear to the listener that she has been passionate about celtic music since childhood. She has been influenced by such greats as Natalie MacMaster, Ashley MacIsaac and Jerry Holland.
